2nd Mother's Day Giveaway

Today's giveaway is courtesy of Sue from My Forever Child. Thank you Sue!!
At My Forever Child they offer a wide variety of remembrance jewelry to help comfort those who have lost a child.

"The My Forever Child™ Collection was born out of a desire to create unique keepsakes for those touched by the loss of a child. No matter what age the child died at, it is very important for the grieving parent to have their child remembered and acknowledged. Even though the child is not with them physically, the parental feelings of love do not disappear. Parenthood is not measured by the length of time spent raising a child. The child is always in the parent's heart, hence the phrase "My Forever Child™"."

The mom who inspired me most is my own mother. Growing up, we didn't have the best relationship but we made it work. When I was a senior in high school, she was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. During this time, she also had a major breakdown and many other problems. She fought through it all however, and has shown me that I can fight through whatever the day can bring. I have a 98% chance of getting the same cancer as she and my grandmother. I see her do it, and that inspires me to not worry, that I can beat it too!

I am new to all of this blogging stuff so hopefully this comment shows on your page...lol I actually have 2 mothers that inspire me.
First and for most my own mother is the one who inspires me. She has always been not just my mother but my best friend.
My 2nd mother is Holly Haas. She is the strongest person I know. She has been through alot lately and her strength and faith for God is amazing. It makes my heart smile to know that you are my friend. ( I am not saying that to suck up so I can win, I mean every word!)

My Aunt has been such an inspiration to me. She never loses her cool and always willing to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. She is so understanding and forgiving. I wish I were more like her. I dont know what I would do without her.

My Grandma is the one who inspires me. When I was 5 years old her and grandpa adopted me so I could have a home that was stable. For the past 30 years I have not looked at them as pa amd ma they have been my mom and dad that stood beside me no matter what. I can't thank them enoughfoe everything they have done. With out them I have know I idea were I would be or if I would have been able to know the family I have now.

I actually have two moms who have inspired me to be a better mom. First one is my own mother. She has ALWAYS been there for me. Even though I have made mistakes she is still there to bail me out in my time of need. She is my guidance in rasing my own kids.

The second is my Pastors Wife. She has showed me how to rasie my kids for the Glory of God. She is such an inspriation to me. She plows through no matter what bumps happen in her path. She has taught me much on the Godly side of things.

Unfortunately I can't give you a SWEET sugary story about how my own mother was my inspiration.......because she wasn't. But I will tell you that my own daughter Brooke had a little boy last year {yep Im a grandma too - there I said it} She is an inspiration to me because she is raising that little boy by herself.....and making or work. I am so PROUD of her and she is truly an inspiration to young single mothers as well.

I would have to say it would be my mom. My mom is a wonderful, caring and loving women. She has worked hard throughout her whole life to give us a life we wanted as children. Now as we are adults, my mom is around my children. To see the smile on their faces when she comes over, it is just priceless!! She is my best friend and i LOVE her! :)

You Holly have inspired me! I am in just Awe by how strong you are and how you are so willing to help others! As we are trying to conceive our last baby, i have the thought in the back of my head of what i would EVER do if something like this happened to me but then i think of you and know that if it was to happen, i would have someone to talk too and have you in my life to help me through it! Thanks for all you do for these other mothers who have lost their sweet babies!!

The mother that most inspired me was my aunt. She was the one that pretty much raised me and my 2 cousins. She showed me how strong I can be. She was always encouraging me to do what was in my heart and the one to bring me to church. I have lost 2 precious baby boys to EB (a rare genetic skin disorder) but am very blessed to have our 2 year old daughter who we adopted. Being a mom I now know why my aunt would do anything for me or my cousins. I found your blog from Jodi's. I have been inspired by your blog as I have had the same feelings and could not get through it without my faith in Jesu. It is very hard losing a child let alone 2. I have been praying for you and your husband. It can be hard on a marriage if you don't grieve together as well. I have the book I'll hold you in Heaven and found it very helpful. I will continue to pray for your family.

This is tough for me to answer, because my own mother abandoned me, and my adoptive mother abused my brother, sister, and I for 11 years.

I would have to say I most admire the women in my life that mothered me when my own wouldn't.

It's hard to choose the mom that has inspired me most. I would have to say my mother in law. She is a strong and independent catholic woman. She has been through so much in her life. She was a single mom raising twin boys that gave her hell and yet she survived lol. She is a great inspiration to me. If she can make it certainly I can too!

Hello my name is Heather Johnson and i am inspired by all of us mothers who have experienced a loss. I lost my son Noah Ryan in 2007 due to unknown causes and he is survived by his twin sister Keirstan who is a wonderful but also a sad reminder of the son i lost. Holly you too have inspired me to be able to also see that we will see the children that we have lost in heaven and i cannot wait for that day but until then i will live each day with the joy of knowing that. Thank you again for your posts they are an inspiration to me!!

I think the most inspiring mother to me in a long time is my friend Myah. Myah's daughter like Holly was diagnosed with anencephaly. Faith is almost 3 months old and is still fighting to show dr's wrong. Myah has done everything for her daughter including dropping her own life for taking care of this special child. Myah has endured hate mail and even friends not agreeing with her including her own Dr. She has raised above all this to ensure her daughter have all the rights that all children should be granted!

I am most inspired by a dear friend of mine, Carrie. I don't get to see her much, but when I do I fall in love with the way she mothers her own three children. I pray daily for God to guide me to help me be more like her.

I would say that I have a few. One would be my mom. She has been through a lot of mental abuse. She married my dad with out knowing he has bipolar. She lived with him for 20+ years. Through all the mess ups and mental and phisical abuse.
The second would have to be you Holly. You are so strong. I could not have been as strong as you, if I were in that situation. You and Carliegh have brought me closer to God and I thank you for that. Thank you so much Holly for being an inspiration for all of us.

My mom inspiration is my grandmother. My mother got pregnant with me at 18, and while now that is just another thing that happens, back in 81, that was kinda taboo. My grandparents didn't adopt me, but they raised me in TX while my mom lived, went to school and basically finished out her teenagehood in Alabama with my great grandmother. I didn't actually live with my mom till she married my step-father when I was 3. My grandparents still cared from me from afar, and came and got me every spring break and summer vacation. My mother was supposed to tell me of the truth of my biological father at 16, and when she didn't my grandmother made sure that I knew after I graduated high school, after they took care of all my graduation expenses, and everything, after that I moved in with them, I have always thought of them as my parents. After I got married and my husband and I were stationed in Virigina, my mother got into some trouble, and my grandparents took custody of my 2 younger sisters, who they are still raising in their home, along with my mother now.

Holly you and Celia also inspire me. I lost my son Austin at 19 weeks. It was the worst time of my life, I didn't know how I was going to get along with my life, and my then 2 year old daughter. You and Celia carried your angels to term, held them in your arms, carried them to the funeral home, I commend both of you for the strength you have, and your faith. You are both truly women of the lord, and he is working in you two in great ways. There are no words to how much you have touched me. I have even gone to my doctor after researching anen, I am an eplieptic and my drugs make me fear that I have a higher chance of it happening when we try for our 3rd child. So, we are going to take extra steps when that time comes with extra folic acid when we decide to start trying and all. I wouldn't have even known about this if I wouldn't have found your blog. Thank You Holly!!!

Holly, I think its awsome you are doing these giveaways. While you are an inspiration to me there is another mother I know I want to win this for...
She has a baby at 28 weeks like me, we were in the NICU together. My son came home and hers did not. He passed away at 6 months old. I would love to win this to her as a tribute to Kyle. I always say he was Joshuas first friend. They were only born 2 days apart.

I would have to say my Grandma. She is no longer with us but I spent alot of time with her because My Mom & I didn't have a good relationship. Now that I have moved & even the past 5 yrs before that my Mom & I started getting along better. I would also have to say a domestic sheltar for women & kids helped me alot when at one point in my life I had no where to turn & had my older 2 kids. We made it & thanx to them I got to keep my job & get out of a bad time in my life.
Holly I would have you have helped me alot since I have been following your blog & has helped me. Words can't even express how all this has made me feel. You are a true woman of the Lord. So glad I took the time to read your blog & to have you for a friend online. Thank-you from my heart. Take care & HUGS !!!!!!

The Mom that has most inspired me .. thats a bit tough. It all depends on the area of inspiration, but the one who has inspied me the most, isn't a mom at all! She's my late grandmother's sister. She's a nun, and after my Grandma died 14 years ago, she and I became sort of pen pals, and when I was having teenage issues with my parents, I'd send her novel upon novel of written letters of my side of the story, and she always had a way of making me view their side, without even knowing it. When I got married, she made it a point to come out to the wedding, despite not seeing me in person, in 11 years! She helped me get over the bumps in the road, all the hurt when I suffered my miscarriage last June, and gave me the strength to keep trying. Even now, when I have my moments, she still has a way and always seems to calm my wild heart and mind. I wouldn't be a mother myself, nor a wife, if it weren't for her, and all the judgements and lessons she has taught me, through just letters, and with no "mother" experience herself.

There is a young woman I know who made me realize that being a mother means so much more than changing a diaper making a bottle rocking them to sleep. Its sacrifice to the fullest there cannot be a limit on what u would do for your child even if it means that u may hurt for the rest of your life. You love them with everything you have even if you may never be able to actually hear them or see their smile or hear their voice. Being a good mother means putting your children before yourself and giving them every bit of love u have inside of u even if it leaves u with nothing left for yourself. To be a good mother all of this must be done without a doubt without questioning it and without a blink of an eye! Yes I know a young woman and that young woman is you holly! You have inspired me to be a better person a better mom and u have taught me what it means to be not just a good mother but a great mother! Thank u! Love, chantel

The mother who has inspired me the most is my grandmother. She has amazing faith in God and is the reason I have the relationship with him that I do today. i was not raised in a Godly home, so she was my link to God. My home life was rough, and when my mom left when I was 10, it was my grandma who was there for me. It was she who talked to me endlessly when i would come home from a weekend with my mom. I confided in her and her alone. Through all the years she has been there for me. I lived with her for a few weeks after Luke was born, and it was she who jump started my breastfeeding and let me rest those first few long nights...so that I didnt have to get up with him. She has sacrificed herself and her time for her family over and over again. She has shown me what a mother's love truly looks, and feels, like.

I can't think of her name but she was a mom in the book: "A special kind of love" Her daughter Laura had severe disabilities after a car wreck where Laura got severe injuries when she was 18 months old. Laura's mom had overcome so much not only with her daughter but with people who didn't know how to act right. Her story along with others has helped me to know how to handle it when I get that sort of reaction about my daughter. It also taught me that you never know just how quickly things can change and it makes me just cherish my time with Christina all the more.....

My own mother inspired me the most. She was the best mother in the world. She always said she wanted to live till Jesus came back, but she died at the age of 94. In September of this year, she would have been 100. She got to see Jesus before us and is in Heaven cradling her baby that was stillborn, my preemie daughter, my niece's preemie son, and my cousin's 6 week old baby. Thank you Holly for your blogabout sweet Carleigh. It helps me with my ongoing healing.

There are so many beautiful mothers who have touched my life and inspired me...beginning with my own...that it is so hard to choose just one. Two come to my mind today: my two Lynettes...my blog friend, Lynette Kraft (http://lynnettekraft.blogspot.com/) and my In Real Life friend, Lynette T. who brought the Moms In Touch prayer ministry into my life and has been my "prayer warrior partner" and friend for about nine years.

Thank you for doing this, sweet friend. They have such beautiful keepsakes at My Forever Child. Blessings to you today!

Love,
Kelly

Ok Holly, this answer might come as a shock, but my mother inspires me the most too. She raised us 4 children by herself for the most part. My 'father' and her were married for many years, but he was consumed with his work and other side habits. Long story short: he had an affair, they divorced, and he is a drug addict with many unfortunate problems. My mom since married a wonderful christian man (who I consider to be my dad), and they have a son together. Her life revolves around us 5 children- always putting our happiness and needs first. I love her very much, and she has taught me everything in life. She never gives up, and has strong family values.
**On a side note, I am inspired by you momma's who have suffered a loss of a child. I read all of these stories, and it just breaks my heart. I do not know if I could be that strong and brave. My heart and prayers go out to you all, and I thank you for sharing your faith and courage to all of us. (That was answer #2) :)
Love,
Lindsey

The most inspiration mother to me was my Mamaw. I only got 5 short years with her, most of which I don't remember. She was such a kind and amazing person though. I still hold her very dear to my heart! I know I had her wrapped around my finger, but she was still a great grandma while I had her! It's amazing how having such a short time with someone shapes a large part of your life!

My mom is who inspires me because through this horrible time in my life my mom has helped me through it. She supports me and I know a lot of people do not know what to say or what to do but she knows she needs to be there or when to just give me a hug. I miss my little girl but I am blessed with my mom.

I visited your blog and I just wanted to say that I am sorry for loss of your sweet baby girl. What a heart breaking experience and so recent. I pray that God continues to hold you and your family tightly.

Like a lot of people, my own mother is my best friend and I am inspired by the way she loved and cared for my dad as he struggled through a battle with lung cancer. She showed him such love and compassion! When her own heart was breaking in two, she was a strong rock for him and for me, too!
The other mother that I am inspired by is Mary, the mother of Jesus. I know it sounds strange, but my daughter and I have a devotion we read together each night and lately we have been reading about Mary. To think about what she faced as the mother of a baby also destined to die is so comforting in a way. Mary endured so much ridicule from people who probably thought she was crazy or a liar. Then her son grows up and she has to watch him beaten and crucified. From what we see of her in the Bible, she didn't waver in the promises God gave her. I just think Mary is an awesome example of unflinching faith in the midst of indescribable adversity!
