Not long after I wrote and read my poem I Will Be Your Voice at Jordan's memorial I got a call from Holly from the women's center saying that they had been talking to a girl who was pregnant and considering an abortion. They had given her all the resources and everything but she was still undecided and had an appointment scheduled to get it done in a few days. Holly "just happened" to have a copy of my poem with her that day and gave it to the girl as a last ditch effort to change her mind. She wanted to make sure, even after the fact, that it was ok that she had done this. Well, absolutely!! I prayed that my poem could make a difference.
I visited the center one day to drop off some items and I was talking to Shelia and she told me that because of my poem the girl changed her mind and was not going to get an abortion. You have no idea how ridiculously happy I was at that moment! For one, I was so grateful that she would never have to know the pain of abortion. Plus, I was happy that something good had come from my experience.
God works wonders, doesn't He?

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29
