Memorial Day Giveaway

Happy Memorial Day to everyone! I hope you are enjoying spending time with your families and remembering those who have served and are currently serving our country. Without them, we wouldn't be enjoying the many freedoms we have today.

A lot of families also remember loved ones they have lost on this day. Anthony and I went back to visit our family over the weekend so we didn't visit the cemetery or take any flowers. But we would have had we stayed home. I do plan on visiting this week though and I'm hoping Carleigh's marker is finally up by then.

Over the weekend I did a little shopping and I got a few shirts at Maurice's. I only had to spend $10 more to get a free flipflop and I couldn't pass up on that offer. I found a necklace with 2 angel wings and I really liked it so I picked up an extra one to give to one of my readers who has lost a precious child. The necklace is a longer one and is silver in color. Each wing is about 2 inches long from end to tip of the wing.

So, if you have an angel in Heaven, whether you lost them early in your pregnancy or a little later in life, and you would like to win this necklace just leave a comment and tell me if you did anything to remember your little one today. This giveaway will end Wednesday right before midnight.

(New Reading Group post will be up tomorrow evening. Figured I'd give you all a break for the holiday.)

My family did a balloon release for a few of my husband's friends whom he lost in combat while he was serving, as well as one for the angel we lost about this time last year. we did a three balloon bouquet for his friends, one red, white, and blue, and for the angel we lost, each of us released a yellow balloon. Emily didnt quite udnerstand it, and ABigail surely didn't either, but to Bryan and I, it helped us release some emotion and say a prayer.

I am blessed with being a mommy to children here on Earth. The odd thing is..well not odd..but bitter sweet thing is...I lost 5 babies and a twin and there are days that I just can not help but think about each of them and how old they would be...and how are family would be with them.
I love your blog and thank you for the wonderful giveaway...

Hey Holly. You are still in my prayers. I couldn't face Madysen's grave today. I bought flowers and drove by the cemetary three times. I just couldn't stop and get out. Her marker was set up last week. I hope little Carleigh's get there soon.

Once again it was raining here so I was not able to go out to the cemetery. I will be happy when we can go one day without rain so I can visit Logan's grave. I need to put some new flowers out and make sure everything is clean around his plot.

That's a beautiful necklace.
I have three angel babies in Heaven.
Today I lit a candle and said a special prayer for them, and each of my living miracle daughters, thanking God for giving them the gift of life.
Memorial Day is also another reminder to reflect on the great sacrifice that God made by sending his pure, innocent son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.

Today we just spent time together. Hubby had the day off. It was wonderful. We are so busy that we dont get much time together. I lost mine early in pregnancy so there wasnt a grave to go visit, but there isnt a day that I dont think about them.

I put together another page in baby Johnnys scrapbook, it has been one of the things that helps me remember, embrace, grieve, and rejoice him all at once. I miss my son everyday. Thinking of all the missed babies tonight~~

I looked at my 2 precious boys Anthony and James' scrapbooks and sat at the cemetery to visit them for awhile. It was just a year on May 23 we said goodbye to James. It was nice to go to the cemetery to see his stone.

Hi Holly!
I have been inspired by all the writing in the sand and I started thinking about all the people I know going on vacations soon or who live near the ocean. I have asked several people to do Haven's name for us and I'm really excited to see them!
Also, we did a project in honor of Haven's 5th birthday to collect books for the school library so I've been spending time choosing books to order...sooo fun!
love,
Andi

I have two in Heaven, my husband doesnt do well with remembering the past but I have a special box of lil things that I have to just remember the memories. One I lost very early. Then second was a undeveloped twin that never formed. So I just hold them in my heart. I thought about all those parents yesterday as we drove by "baby land" at the cemetary to put things on my Grandpas grave. I dont know how brave I could be if I had to vist "baby land" every year. My heart goes out to those who do!

we send a pink and blue for every holiday and birthday for Hailey. One balloon for her and one from blake because he misses her. I always wonder what she would have been like. IF her and blake would get along. If she would dote on Nate.

I lost 2 children to miscarriages so I don't have a grave to go visit but everyday & especially those certain times of the year when they happened I'm always thinking of them. It's just hard some days. HUGS Caroline

I have lost 2 children. On memorial day, I pulled down the box of my son's things from the hospital. His outfits, bracelets, everything I have of his. My other baby was lost due to a miscarriage at 6 weeks, I have been designing a tattoo to get in memory of that angel baby.
