I'll Hold You In Heaven

I'll Hold You In Heaven is a book by Jack Hayford. The book is for "healing and hope for the parent who has lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or early infant death." It's a small book-only 117 pages long-but it can make a big impact.

I read this book about a year ago-before we had even conceived Carleigh. Now, I would like to read it again with a different perspective. I went ahead and read the introduction and then I stopped and thought to myself, "This would be a good book to read with others and discuss." So, I am asking my readers. Would you like to join me in reading this book?

Why this book? It encompasses all kinds of loss and I think it can help us all understand each one. I think that this book will bring a lot of comfort. Even if you haven't personally experienced a loss I think this book will be very helpful.

Amazon has the book available starting at $2.95 plus shipping. Local libraries and book stores may also carry this book.

If you would like to join me reading it please leave a comment. Reading will start next Friday so everyone has time to get access to a book. If all those interested in reading get their books sooner we can start earlier (so please let me know if you are joining in!). After each chapter I'll ask questions and we can all give our thoughts. I hope you will join me!

I would love to join in reading this book. I actually already have it-a friend bought it for me (and a journal or workbook that goes along with it) when we had Haven. It will be good to read it again. I haven't read it since right after he was born.

I would like to join y'all too. I have others that I need to read as well that I have gotten since my husband has passed and when I found out about William, but never really had the time to sit down and read any of them. This will be a great way for me to get motivated to read them.

Holly...I have been following your story with Carleigh from the beginning. Before you ever even knew your Angel had anencephaly.

I have been reluctant to post anything because I know there are no words to ease your pain. I stumbled across this poem and I wanted to share it with you.

Thinking of you always...

An Angel Never Dies
Don't let them say, I wasn't born
That something stopped my heart
I felt each tender squeeze you gave
I've loved you from the start.

Although my body you can't hold,
It doesn't mean I'm gone.
This world was worthy, not, of me
God chose that I move on.

I know the pain that drowns your soul,
What you are forced to face.
You have my word, I'll fill your arms
Someday we will embrace.

You'll hear that it was "meant to be,
God doesn't make mistakes"
But that won't soften your worst blow..
Or make your heart not ache.

I'm watching over all you do,
another child you'll bear.
Believe me when I say to you,
That I am always there.

There will come a time, I promise you
When you will hold my hand,
Stroke my face and kiss my lips
And then you'll understand.

Although, I've never breathed your air,
Or gazed into your eyes..
That doesn't mean I never "was"
An Angel Never Dies........

That poem is so touching, and I am glad it was shared. It sure reassures me and my hart over the loss I suffered almost a year ago.

Holly, I'd like to join in on your "reading group" Count me in!

I just wrote about this book! Carla Stream from jillstanek.com told me it was a good book because my best friend had a secret abortion a couple of weeks ago and now she is having the hardest time recovering mentally from it.

I picked up a copy from the book store also to read although I have never had to deal with the loss of a child.

Holly, I would like to join in....But honestly am afraid to read it. My emotions are so tumultuous at the moment that it doesn't take much to bring them to the boiling point. Do you think it is something that would help wtih that?
I have been wanting to read that one as well as a few others that I had found but have yet to order. I just want to be strong enough.
Again, you amaze me with your strength and faith through all of this. I want to be that way but so often struggle with it all. But I AM trying!

I just want to say I received this book as a gift from my sister in law when I lost my baby to anencephaly in 2007. I found it very helpful and have since passed it on to other moms who have lost children

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29

Thank you for leaving a comment! I love receiving them and I read each and every one!
