Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day 2009

Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. This day is a special day where we can all recognize the babies we have lost, no matter the cause. Tonight is the Wave of Light and I plan on light a candle for both Jordan and Carleigh. Read below to see how you can participate in this special event.

Another way you can help to remember your baby or babies is to add them to my Angel Friends. If you need help finding support or are looking for ways to remember your baby or more please check out my Helpful Links. If you know of a link that might be helpful please let me know and I will add it!

In honor of this day of remembering our babies I have a giveaway for you. Sue from My Forever Child has donated a Personalized Angel Wing Necklace for me to give to mommy who has lost one or many angels. My Forever Child offers a variety of child loss keepsakes, many of which you can personalize. You can learn more about My Forever Child by clicking here. Also, there are other blogs who are holding giveaways from My Forever Child.

To enter this giveaway all you have to do is leave a comment and tell me who you are remembering on this day. This giveaway is for today only and will run until 11:59 pm EST. The winner of the necklace will be announced the morning of October 16th. Please stay tuned for the rest of the month of October as I will be giving away more items from My Forever Child.

Jordan & Carleigh, today I will remember you in a special way by lighting a candle, but every day I remember you in my heart. I love you!

That necklace says so much. I would feel so honored to wear that in memory of Isaiah. People hardly ever speak his name, and I would love to show that he is on my mind throughout every single day that I am here on this earth. I am very emotional lately. I'm sure that the birth of Ezekiel tommorrow is playing a big part in that emotion. It's bitter sweet. That necklace would be a nice reminder to all... that I have not forgotten.

Love,
Jenny

One year ago today, Ella was conceived. At that time, I had no idea that this day was Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day. I'm going to go out today and buy a special candle to light tonight for Ella and all of her friends. Thinking of Carleigh today!

Today I am lighting a candle for our son Seth. He was born March 27, 2008 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He went to Heaven on Oct. 12, 2008 (making it a year just this week). I love the poem you shared in an earlier post as sometimes I can not believe how much I still miss Seth. I can handle it thinking of God leaving that there so I look forward to Heaven!

I will be lighting a candle for Brendan, my identical twin son born at 25 weeks, 2 days. He lived for 3 days. He had a grade 4 brain bleed, perforated lungs, and weakening heart. We decided to take him off life support - the hardest decision a mommy has to make. His brother is 1.5 yrs old and is doing wonderfully. I will also be lighting a candle for all my friends who have either lost a singleton or a twin. Thank you for sharing your story with us and inspiring others.

Wanted to stop by and tell you I was thinking of you today. May your day be special as you honor your angels. I also wanted to say that one of my other blogger friends posted the story on the Tennessee family that you blogged about a while ago whose son was born and only lived two minutes and they don't want to issue a birth certificate. Well, I guess people can sign the petition even if they don't live in TN, so I signed it and was so glad I was able to lend my support to that.
What a special day and special way to honor little ones across the globe.

I am so glad I found your blog. It is just great. We are remembering our angel Ryan Matthew. He passed at 8 weeks due to a brain injury suffered during heart surgery to repair one of many of his birth defects. May God bless you and bring you peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I find it so couragous that you decided to carry your daughter to term. After my son was born I wanted to donate all that I could to other babies in need. Unfortunately nothing was able to be donated. Today I am remembering my son, Kaiden Robert, born at 39 weeks. His cord wrapped around his neck twice. Such a perfect baby with no chance to live. xoxoshells.webs.com is a site I made in his memory. Thank you for sharing your wonderful site!

Today I remember my sweet Peyton Elizabeth, gone too soon to cancer, and never forgotten. I remember my first pregnancy, lost to miscarriage. And I remember the babies of all the mothers in this community who have made such a difference in my life these past months, with their support and understanding. Your sweet little Carleigh will be among those in my prayers tonight, as she is often.

Blessings,

Today I am remembering one of my good friends babies. He passed away at two months old from shaken baby caused by his father. Today he would actually be turning 4 as well, its his birthday. :( I don't understand how his mom goes by every single day but I praise her for doing so. I am also remembering my baby that I lost at 5 weeks and 6 days.

I light one candle for Wyatt. Joseph and I used our unity candle from our wedding. We thought it was fitting...

I also light a single candle to remember all the babies of my friends... I'll post pictures later. It didn't feel right not to light one for Carleigh and all the other babies as well... I feel like I've gotten to know them so well as I read the stories of thier lives through their mothers :)

I am lighting a candle for the first time for our daughter, Lily Elaine, born into the arms of God at 11 wks pregnancy from Trisomy 21 on 5/5/09.

I am thankful for sites like this to allow those of us to not feel so alone when grieving the loss of child.

Lily Elaine will always forever in my heart be my first child and I am thankful for the gift of her life that God gave me. It was much shorter than I anticipated yet, I know she if fulfilling a bigger purpose in heaven.

Today I am remembering all the lost babies of the women I have met online as well as those of ones I know IRL. Personally, I remember Janet Susan Barton, my sister, Meredith, my daughter, Joshua Myers, my nephew, and Cason Adams, my cousin. All of these losses are sad, but Cason really tugs at my heartstrings as he accidentally smothered in bed with his parents in 2001.God bless all of you who have losses.

It's been just over a year since I lost my baby Gabriel Eric to Anencephaly. I miss him dearly. I wrote this poem in memory of him:

Upon discovering him, tears flowed
out of fear. Uncertainty looming
ominously over her. She loved
with all and smiled happily knowing

they would grow together. Filled
with joy, her heart was a bird soaring
high. In three months, turbulence ended
their time together, abruptly cutting

her soul in two. The words echoed
through her head, “Saving
is impossible” and “A life risked
for nothing is worthless.” Everything

left meaningless by prayers unanswered.
She was alone, her spirit shattering
in the cold darkness. Frightened,
the eternal emptiness tearing

her slowly apart. A secret summoned
often by the recollection of his beating
heart; a heart that will always be remembered.
