What it means to be loved

My friend Katie shared a song with me-What It Means To Be Loved by Mark Schultz. I hadn't heard it before so I listened to it. Oh my gosh. Tears!

The first half of the song spoke to me the most because I could really relate to it. The second half-not so much. But only because we had a different outcome.

"I wanna give her the world
I wanna hold her hand
I wanna be her mom for as long as I can
And I wanna live every moment until that day comes
I wanna show her what it means to be loved"

I don't know if Carleigh could feel the love that I had for her while I was carrying her but I hope that she did. I hope that she can feel my love now.

I wanted to give my baby the world, but instead she got Heaven. It hurts that she's not here and that I can't hold her like I hold her sisters. So I hold her sisters tighter and love deeper. And that will just have to do for now...

This is beautiful, Holly! And I so, so understand this sentiment - poor Alice probably feels smothered!

We saw him perform that song in concert after losing Isaac but before having Eliana. Needless to say, we both cried our eyes out. Not that Eliana is here, it gets me even more...

I too hold my kids a lot tighter... and I hope that somehow Freja can feel my love for her through them.

I too always wonder if TanaLee knew just how much she was loved. Much her life was horrible and she was under a lot of meds to keep her comfortable. I can only hope she knows. Holly I so believe that Carleigh felt love while in the womb, you cared for her, likely talked ,sang and everything else for her...she knows. Beautiful lyrics!

My sister gave me that cd while I was pregnant with Ella. I love it. It still makes me cry. I know that Carleigh felt your love while you carried her and still does!

Thanks for sharing this song. I just know that Carleigh felt your love. And I would like to think that Jesus has told her about her amazing parents who gave her every chance at life. (((HUGS)))

Just popping in quick...will come back to listen to the song. Just want to say that I believe with all my heart that Carleigh could feel your love and that she still can. I think love is the one thing we do take into eternity with us.

Just my two cents! =)

Love ya!

This is SO true. I do believe our little ones feel how much we love them even from inside. I believe they know our voice and how much we love them. I know they are waiting for us next to our Savior, what a blessing.
