Our sweet 2nd rainbow baby arrived Monday, June 18th and it was a wonderful birth and she is such a precious baby. Evanee Graycen was 7 lbs 4 oz and 19.5 inches, the exact same measurements as our first rainbow, Lainey. Thanks to everyone for their love and support during the pregnancy and after.
One of the first things I noticed about her after she was born was how much she looked like Carleigh. It definitely made me smile.
It’s that time of year for another golf outing for Sufficient Grace Ministries!! It really is a fun time and it helps to support the ministry so if you are local please consider coming out and playing some golf. If you can’t make it to the event then please consider sponsoring a part of the event or even donating a small amount toward the ministry.

Saturday, July 7, 2012 ~ 8:00 am shotgun start
1. Form a four person team ~ $200/team ($50 ea.). Price includes 18 holes of golf, cart, and dinner.
2. Sponsor a hole for $100 or share a sponsorship for $50. We will put a sign with your company or individual name on the tee box.
3. Beverage Sponsor - $150 covers the cost of non-alcoholic beverages for the event and part is donated to SGM. There will be a sign on the beverage cooler advertising your business.
4. Become a dinner sponsor for $250.
5. Make a donation in any amount.
6. Donate door prizes or tee prizes.
7. Pray for this event and the outreaches of this ministry.

Sufficient Grace Ministries for Women, a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization, was founded in 2004 by Kelly Gerken with the purpose of reaching out to women and families to offer comfort, encouragement, and hope. The Dreams of You division of this ministry exists to provide comfort to women and families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Kelly has experienced the loss of twin daughters (Faith and Grace) at 26 weeks and the loss of an infant son, (Thomas) who died shortly after birth from Potter's Syndrome. From her own family's journey of grief and healing, Kelly has created the Dreams of You Memory Book and other beautiful support materials to help families form a precious memory for their babies who leave this earth too soon. Here I am past 3 years since Carleigh was born. I won’t lie, it has gotten easier. Sad days and moments do not happen as often as they once did. Thoughts of loss and life without her don’t consume my thoughts anymore, but I do still think of her every single day. Perhaps the sadness isn’t profound because of just how busy life is for us these days. I’ve had one rainbow baby already plus I am pregnant and due any day now with our second rainbow baby. Not to forget Carleigh’s big sisters who add to the bunch. These kids keep us on our toes!
I don’t often get time by myself and most of the time when I do it is when I am driving so that is when I think of her most. It’s not hard to find a song either that somehow reminds me of her and our journey.
Trips to the cemetery are a rare occasion now. I still enjoy visiting but time is more limited now. I do make it a point though to go each season and change her flowers. Do I feel guilty for not visiting as much? No, I don’t. I’m in a better place and I don’t feel I have to do as much for her as I once did. It still makes me feel good though when others remember her even though that is not as important as it once was too.
I still miss her a lot. I’m still on this roller coaster and even though my wounds have turned to scars they can still ache. I don’t have expectations of where I should be. I just live each day as it comes and do the best that I can.
