Spoken Word Blog

I decided to join in with Angie at still life with circles and many others participating in the Spoken Word Blog Round-up. To me it seemed like a pretty good idea. It’s always fun to hear the voice speaking the words you usually only read yourself. I think it’s neat to see how the voices are different or the same to what you imagined.

I decided to share a poem from a post. I thought I’d have a few minutes to get it in after I picked up the girls from the sitter. Kyndra was playing with dinosaurs at the table and I had Lainey drinking a bottle. Should’ve known one of them would slip in the video. I decided not to re-do the video as it was most likely to happen again and why edit real life, right? This is me and this is what you get!

She is such a little sweetheart - so beautiful! I felt very uplifted watching your v-blog. And your poem is perfect. That is exactly how it is, our babies are in our thoughts and hearts all the time.

Loved it, Holly! I love Kyndra getting into the video, too.
I have been inspired by all your posts about your trip & Oct. 15th. Thank you for sharing! I know you gave a good speech at the observance & I'm glad you were able to share Carleigh. xoxo

Love it! The poem is perfect, and your little Kyndra just made me smile so much. You show how it is, we are always thinking of them, and those of us with living children are parenting them while missing, and even though our hearts are broken, we still smile.
This video is perfect, thank you so much. x

Loved this poem when you posted it and love hearing it here. I wonder if we should add it along with some others to the Dreams of You Memory Book. Let me know what you think...I'd like to include it! =)

Your poem does encapsulate, so well, those everyday things that we do, it shows that no matter what we're doing, our babies are always with you. And that your little one popped up on your knee was so timely, and, well, just gorgeous! Thankyou for sharing this salient poem. Love and light to you. xo

HOLLY! I love LOVE lurve seeing and hearing you mama! And that poem is exactly what I do too... constantly think even during the most mundane of routines. Thank you for sharing it and not stopping even with Kyndra's 'pant's issue.' I couldn't stop giggling, she is so cute!

Oh Holly. I do love that you are so real. I don't know how else to explain it!!! I feel ridiculous for redoing mine a few times after seeing yours!! Anyway I think the poem you read was just perfect. Always, always thinking of them. So honored to call you a friend.

That is absolutely beautiful, what a lovely poem and read with such calm love in your voice. I really liked the little comments from Kyndra, real life as you say and it also seemed to reinforce the point that Carleigh is still thought of and amongst your family xoxo

So beautiful and so true. On the outside people see us and we look like we have it all together. Day to day, we go through... surviving and trying to pick up the pieces. I loved that your daughter was a part of your video. It truly reflects real life. As I sat here trying to watch, my 3-year old son and our dog are chasing each other up and down the hallway. Distracting... yes. Would I change it? Nope. I got your post's message... loud and clear. As I watch Cameron and Max running through the house... I think of Nathan.

This is perfect. I loved hearing your words in your own voice, against the background of every-day life. So much to you and all your little ones.

Holly, I was literally doubled over in laughter when I heard Kyndra ask you to take off her pants because she had a little dribble in them - I am still laughing as I write this. Too precious :)
Great VLOG!! We should all do these more often!

This was so awesome for so many reasons! I love the "real life" part of it because if I tried to create such a video I have a feeling it would resemble this. I love the poem, it's a perfect refelction of how a mommy goes through each step of their day. I think of both of my boys in each task involved in my daily routine! Thank you so much for sharing! Just when I thought I might tear up, your precious little one asked to take her pants off....perfect timing little angel! :-)
