Merry Christmas to me!!

I received a wonderful surprise from my husband tonight. I have a piece of jewelry that I wear almost every day that is very special to me. It is a gold cross necklace that Carleigh wore for her visitation and her service. It is dainty and beautiful.

On this necklace I have placed her gold baby ring. We had it sized as small as we could. On the outside of the ring it has a beautiful design. Many times throughout the day I touch her ring and put my finger through it. It's actually become a habit now and I do it without realizing that I am.

My plan was to get a small gold pendant with Carleigh's hand print on it from My Forever Child to add to this necklace. My sneaky husband apparently asked one night about what I wanted to figure out what to get instead of just appearing interested. Sue and Anthony talked on the phone and she created my pendant. Anthony even paid for it with his work credit card and had it delivered to our neighbors' house so I wouldn't know. He went over to our neighbors' house this evening to 'supposedly' tell them that we would be gone for a few days (which I'm sure he did anyway since they keep an eye on our house) and he came back and surprised me with my pendant.

I told him I felt bad because I didn't get him anything for Christmas (that's our thing). He said it wasn't a Christmas present but just something he wanted to do for me. Ok, my heart is melting!

Thank you so much sweetie for surprising me with something I wanted so much. And thanks Sue for creating it!

Oh I'm so glad you like it Holly! And that you can wear it before Christmas. There's actually a little bit more to the story...

When Anthony called me, he said that you wanted Carleigh's footprints on a gold charm. I knew I had the image saved from when I made your bracelet charm. I finally found it after some digging around. But I wanted to compare it to the ones on your blog to make sure that they were in fact the same. I came upon an older post that you said you wanted her HANDPRINT on a gold charm for your necklace. We were on a pretty tight deadline and Anthony wasn't sure how to get me the prints. I said not to worry, I'll figure it out from pictures on the blog.

On the page that I originally took the footprints from, the handprints weren't very clear. So I took the image from the tattoo on your shoulder! That's the first tattoo edited image I've done, lol. It took a bit more editing time to erase the skin texture and shading. But I think it came out exactly like your tattoo.

We decided to put the footprints on the reverse side instead of personalization, so that you could have both sets of prints.

Wear it in the best of health and in remembrance of your precious Carleigh. Thank you to Anthony for commissioning the custom piece. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!

That melts my heart too. All of the charms look so nice together. I have the same pendant with ella's footprints. And, I find myself touching it all day long too. :)

How awesome Holly! It turned out just gorgeous. Jason got his handprint of Adelle's today from My Forever Child too! We were not expecting it for Christmas, so it was a fun surprise too. He just ordered the pendent with her handprint so he could "man it up" and put hemp as the cord it hung from. I love it, and now am thinking I need one too. Although your tattoo is very tempting too!
